“You Look Good, Tris”
Sadly, we’re at the end of the Fun With Four series. 😥 Fortunately, this last scene was really good so it ends on a high note. This is by no means an end to Four or an end of my love for Four, but there is (for now at least) no more stories to analyze to learn more about him. I really enjoyed writing these reviews though. Now on to the review!
I’d like to preface this review by saying that the main reason I gave this review a 5 is because Four is drunk. A drunk Four is a funny Four. 😀
Things that Four does during this scene: (contains spoilers)
- Checks Tris out and tells her she looks different. Because obviously he’s spent a lot of time looking at her to notice any changes.
- Almost tells people about the crows in Tris’s fear landscape. Alcohol is the gateway to Four talking more.
- Acknowledges that he’s ashamed of his fears. Who’s actually proud of their fears? I’m not.
- Admits to preferring Tris over alcohol “for helping [him] forget how awful the world is.” If you don’t think to hard, this is sweet. If you do, then you question whether Tris is being used as a gateway drug. Or maybe that’s just me.
That’s it. Fun With Fun is over. But first, I’m going to end this post with a section of Veronica Roth’s acknowledgement at the end of Four: A Divergent Collection. I think it’s fitting.
Sorry for the bad quality. It didn’t seem so bad on my phone.
